To celebrate the 220th anniversary of the brand, Girard-Perregaux launched the Girard-Perregaux 1966 three-gold bridge tourbillon watch at the 2011 SIHH in Geneva, to highlight the brand’s long history and traditional essence. The three golden bridges were invented by the watchmaker Constant Girard-Perregaux in the mid-19th century: a movement with a tourbillon, equipped with three parallel bridges, the spring barrel, minute hand and tourbillon under the bridge Line up neatly. Achieve a high degree of unity in functionality and aesthetics. Today, Sanjinqiao is still regarded as a classic in Girard Perregaux.

The Girard-Perregaux 1966 Golden Bridge Tourbillon watch has a strong nostalgic look. The hand-painted ‘Breguet-style’ Arabic numerals on the silver-plated dial and blue-steel willow-shaped hands are symbols of the era of pocket watches. The 40mm rose gold case is equipped with a GP9610 self-winding movement, 224 parts, and 31 gem bearings. It can provide 48-hour power reserve at 21600vph frequency.

Although three golden bridges are not used, the new Girard-Perregaux 1966 tourbillon splint bridge has a rare shape: the ‘bassin & eacute;’ splint bridge, the ends of which are extremely smooth and round. This modification process polishes the ends of the stent with perfect regularity to make it semi-cylindrical, and also meets the restrictions of the center and the base. When doing this, the craftsman must polish with gems, carbon, boxwood and diamond paste to get the perfect finish. Any minor defect will be immediately recognized by the naked eye. This craftsmanship requires absolute agility and dedication in order to achieve this, and it is a collection of 19th century Constant Girard-Perregaux pocket watch craftsmanship.

The precise tourbillon is another elaborate focus: the 72 components are finally assembled to a size of one centimeter in diameter and weigh only 0.3 grams. With the original patented automatic winding system, that is, a platinum micro-automatic disk located above and around the barrel. This elegant design allows the size and structure of the movement to remain intact, without any impact.
