The new Deepsea is cast in Oystersteel, and its D-blue color surface changes from dark blue to deep black. In tribute to the Deepsea Challenge, the brand launched the Deepsea Commemorative Edition in 2014 with this surface. Film maker and explorer James Cameron worked with Rolex and the National Geographic Society to dive into the Pacific Mariana Trench on the expedition to the deepest ocean at a depth of 10,908 meters.

Deepsea is equipped with a unidirectional rotating outer ring. The outer ring is also equipped with a black Cerachrom 60-minute scale ring, which allows divers to grasp the diving and decompression time on the sea floor to ensure diving safety. Rolex’s patented Cerachrom ring is made of extremely hard and corrosion-resistant ceramic, which is not easy to scratch and does not fade even when exposed to ultraviolet rays. Numbers and scales are stamped on the ceramic outer ring using a stamping process and plated with platinum using PVD technology. The toothed outer ring facilitates rotation of the outer ring, making it easy to set the dive time even when the diver is wearing gloves.

The indexes and hands of the watch are coated with Rolex’s exclusive Chromalight long-lasting blue luminous material to ensure that it can be clearly read in dim environments.

The new Deepsea watch is equipped with a new-generation 3235 movement, which is fully developed and manufactured by Rolex, fully reflecting Rolex’s innovative technology and cutting-edge watchmaking technology. In terms of precision and reliability, power reserve, shock resistance, magnetism and ease of use, this automatic movement has been fundamentally improved. This movement is equipped with Rolex’s new patented Chronergy escapement. The new escapement is made of nickel-phosphorus, which is not only efficient and reliable, but also immune to magnetic interference. The balance spring component is the heart of the watch and is equipped with a Rolex blue Parachrom hairspring. This hairspring is made of a unique paramagnetic alloy cast by Rolex, and its shock resistance is ten times higher than that of a traditional hairspring. The last Rolex ring ensures that the hairspring can still maintain regularity at any position.

The new Deepsea is cast in oyster steel and has a water-resistant depth of 3900 meters. The visible helium exhaust valve device on the side of the watch prevents the watch from being squeezed by gas during the process of floating from the surface to the surface.

Like all Rolex watches, each ROLEX Deepsea is certified as a top-level observatory precision timepiece, ensuring that the watch will perform at its highest performance when worn on the wrist.
