Omega Presents 2014 Design Ambassador Charity Fundraising Dinner ‘sustaining Time’

Omega once again sponsors the 2014 Design Ambassador Charity Funding Dinner (The Ambassadors’ Ball) hosted by the Hong Kong Design Ambassador (AoD). The event took place on November 8, 2014 at 35 Dabadian Street. PMQ Yuan Chuangfang was successfully held and raised over HK $ 5.5 million in donations. AoD also officially launched the latest funding scheme Design Trust at the dinner.

This annual event is Hong Kong’s most influential fundraising event for the arts and design community, supporting AoD to promote creative industries and foster a new generation of design talent in Hong Kong. The donations will be donated to the Design Trust to provide funding for projects to be funded in the coming years. The first batch of funding projects includes Fan Ling, who received funding from the M + / Design Trust for research projects from 2014 to 2015, and MAP Office, which received funding from cultural projects. Its project, called ‘Hong Kong is Land,’ is a response to the New York Center for Contemporary Art (MoMA ).

Omega once again supported this event as the title sponsor this year, and donated the highly sought-after Speedmaster ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ watch for charity auction. The design of this all-black chronograph watch reinterprets the classic style that accompanied the astronauts on the six missions to the moon. The case is made of a single piece of ceramic, which pioneered the pioneering industry. This outstanding black chronograph watch inherits the outstanding chronograph function and is equipped with the world’s best mass-produced mechanical movement. It is a must-have for watch fans who seek classic style and top technology. In October of this year, this watch was awarded the “Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2014” at the Geneva Watch Awards 2014. After an intense auction, this eye-catching chronograph eventually raised HK $ 150,000 for Design Trust.

The design ambassador’s charity fundraising dinner is the sixth one this year, and the theme of this year is ‘Sustaining Time’. As a unique tradition of the conference, the organizer invites a famous designer as creative director every year. The design of this year is from the handwriting of designer Joyce Wang, who is famous all over the world. She uses wood as the main material, and the entrance of the venue is a 3.6-meter cone tunnel made of recycled wood. When guests enter the venue, they feel like walking into the hourglass, feeling the passage of time, and exploring the infinite possibilities of the future.
